Pro Delivery Manager Contractor Meeting - 29th July 2020
With the increasing expectation that patients have for prescription delivery systems in our COVID world, North of Tyne LPC has approached PDM to hold a contractor meeting to share with contractors the potential benefits that a system like PDM can bring.
The PDM system is designed to plot your prescription delivery route to maximise efficiency and minimise the costs associated with your delivery service.
The meeting will take place on Wednesday 29th July at 7pm via Zoom and places can be booked in advance using this link: https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZUpf-Ghpz0jGNwSBwN5M1C75syqW1P3DHKz
After registering, you'll receive a confirmation email and joining instructions.
An overview of the PDM system is available here and more information will be provided at the meeting.
The LPC approached PDM as they are part of NPA, however we appreciate that other systems are available.
LPC Officer Elections 2020-2021
From March 2020 the LPC will be electing officers to executive roles in the committee for the year ahead. Job descriptions to support those committee members interested in standing for these roles can be found by clicking below.
In 2020-2021 there will be one LPC chair, two LPC vice chairs (one selected from CCA members of the committee and one from independent committee members) and a treasurer.
Primary Care Networks
The GP contract required GP practices to join together with neighbouring practices to form groups of 30-50k patients in 2019. From April 2020, those groups will have to involve community pharmacy. To find out what we're doing to support the growth of PCNs, and what they mean for your pharmacy, click here.
Healthy Living Pharmacies
From October 2019, every pharmacy will be required to achieve at least level 1 accreditation as a Health Living Pharmacy. In North of Tyne we already have some fantastic examples of work around these services, and an ongoing vibrant community of pharmacy staff who are passionate about patient health. Find out more on our HLP page and check out our facebook group.
North of Tyne Local Pharmaceutical Committee usually meets on the first Wednesday of Jan, Mar, May, Jul, Sep and Nov. Community pharmacy contractors are welcome to observe our committee meetings. We invite representatives of our stakeholders to meet and present to the committee. If you would like to attend a committee meeting, or if there is a particular type of event or training evening that you would like us to organise please contact us
We hold three meetings a year in each locality for Healthy Living Champions to network and get updates on health and wellbeing iniatives. We also run frequent training events for pharmacists and pharmacy teams.

Community Pharmacy North of Tyne Awards Night 2019
The North East has a proud history of innovation and exemplary service in community pharmacy. Every year we meet to celebrate the achievements, commitment and vitality of our contractors. Find out more about this year's winners below.
This meeting is for all community pharmacies accredited as Healthy Living Pharmacies (HLP) or working towards HLP accreditation. This meeting is open to those staff who will be or are currently training to be Health Champions. The only restriction, to keep the meeting managable, is that each pharmacy should send no more than ONE representative to the meeting. Those attending will be expected to cascade the information to other pharmacy staff. Meetings will take place every four months, i.e. three meetings per year. They will take place on the third Wednesday of the month in March, July and November.
Training for Pharmacy Consultation Service
The LPC will be organising further CPCS training, incorporating the lessons learnt from the service so far. Keep an eye on our eventbrite page for more information.
